Scholarship
Space City Credit Union held its first annual Wolf Scholarship Golf Classic on November 1st 2010, at Woodland’s Panther Trail in The Woodlands, Texas. From that fundraiser event, we were able to allocate the sum of $5,000.00 towards our new scholarship fund. These are the scholarships Space City Credit Union is offering:
The Space City CU Wolf University Scholarship (2 available):
Recipient profile: A high school senior or student at a Texas-based university.
Amount available for scholarship: $1,250.00/Fall 2011 Semester
Requirements:
- Must be a resident of Texas.
- Must have a high school or college GPA of 3.0 or higher, based on a four-point scale.
- Must be able to provide official academic transcripts.
- Must be able to show proof of enrollment at four-year university, as a full-time student.
- Must write a 250-500-word essay on “The difference between credit unions and banks.”
The Space City CU Wolf Community College Scholarship (2 available):
Recipient profile: A high school senior or student at a Texas-based community college.
Amount available for scholarship: $1,250.00/Fall 2011 Semester
Requirements:
- Must be a resident of Texas.
- Must have a high school or college GPA of 3.0 or higher, based on a four-point scale.
- Must be able to provide official academic transcripts.
- Must be able to show proof of enrollment at community college, as a full-time student.
- Must write a 250-500-word essay on “The difference between credit unions and banks.”
Applicants must be a member of Space City Credit Union, or an immediate relative of a Space City Credit Union member whose account is in good standing.
Applicants must submit all required information by July 31, 2011. Failure to comply with any of these requirements will result in disqualification, and the application will not be considered. Applicants are limited to one entry for all scholarships. Submission to multiple scholarships is prohibited.
Scholarships are scheduled to be awarded in August 2011. The award will be sent directly to the school the recipient will be attending in Fall 2011. Scholarships will be paid only to educational organizations which normally maintain a regular faculty, curriculum, and enrollment of students at the place where its educational activities are conducted. Such school shall use the scholarship to pay the recipient's basic expenses only so long as the recipient's academic standing at the school is such that the recipient will be allowed to continue in his or her course of study. If the student withdraws for any reason during the semester or term, the remainder of the funds should be returned to the Space City Credit Union.
