Appointments can be made for member services, loans, collections, and to use the Harrisburg Branch coin machine. Until further notice, all teller transactions will still occur through the drive thru only.

COVID-19 and Branch Update
In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, we want to remind you that all services can be performed using our full-service drive-thrus. Also, most of your transactions can be completed through Virtual and Mobile Banking services, and cash can be obtained from ATMs for free using our ATM refunding program. We are still operating via drive-thru only at our branches. We are planning to re-open lobbies on June 1st, but with a twist, you must make an appointment to visit the lobbies. More information will be posted soon on these new procedures.

Stop the Spread
It is our responsibility to serve you, and we are committed to keeping both you and our employees' health and safety a top priority. On Monday, April 27th, Governor Abbott revealed his plan to reopen businesses in Texas. The stay-at-home order ends later today, and beginning tomorrow, May 1st, restaurants and retail stores will be allowed to open at 25% capacity.
What does this mean for Space City CU?
Space City CU is an essential business and has remained open for business via our drive-thru, call centers, and electronic services throughout the stay-at-home order. We will not make any changes in our current operating procedures at this time. The Governor of Texas will release more information on Phase II in mid-May. We are watching the data closely each day and our future decisions are guided by that data. Our priority is the safety of our employees, our members, and our community.
Readying to Open Lobbies
Physical distancing and good hygiene will remain important in keeping COVID-19 contained. As we prepare to reopen our lobbies (probably in mid-May), we have stocked-up on supplies including germ shields at the teller line, floor signs indicating six feet of separation, face masks for employees, and hand sanitizer for everyone. To minimize our risk of exposure, we require our staff to regularly use hand sanitizer, clean their stations, clean the facility, and maintain physical distancing where possible.
We will also post reminders around the facility of how you can do your part to help contain the virus based on CDC guidelines. We recommend that you follow these guidelines for the health and safety of all.

It has been announced that in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the community, Harris County has issued a "Stay at Home Order." This order will take effect Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. through Friday, April 3, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
Space City Credit Union is deemed an "essential business" and will remain open to our members during this time. While our branch lobbies will remain closed (exception limited availability at LaPorte), our drive-thru on Harrisburg will be open regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will continue to offer full services.
Our phones and electronic services (web and mobile) are also available to assist with loans and new accounts. You may continue to call us at (713) 222-1244. And a word of caution, this virus could spread rapidly over the coming days and we urge all members to obey the County stay at home order and use our electronic services. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been a windfall for fraudsters as they exploit the global thirst for knowledge on the virus. Fraudsters have launched Coronavirus-themed phishing attacks to deliver malware – typically credential-stealing banking Trojans. The phishing emails purport to be from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Fraudsters have also created fake websites to exploit Johns Hopkins University’s interactive Coronavirus dashboard to spread malware.
Fraudsters are exploiting the global thirst for knowledge about the virus by launching Coronavirus-themed phishing attacks to spread credential stealing malware. The emails, which contain an infected attachment or a link to a malicious website, are made to appear like they come from the CDC or the WHO. The WHO posted an article on its website warning users of this scam.
Fraudsters have also exploited Johns Hopkins University’s interactive Coronavirus dashboard containing an interactive map that tracks Coronavirus statistics by region. Cybersecurity firms have identified several fake Coronavirus interactive maps that infect user devices with credential-stealing malware. Fraudsters are circulating links to these malicious websites containing Coronavirus maps through social media and phishing emails.
Security blogger Brian Krebs reported several Russian cybercrime forums started selling infection kits that exploits John Hopkins University’s interactive Coronavirus dashboard as part of a Java-based malware deployment scheme.

As you may already be aware, Space City made the decision to close all branch lobbies until further notice. However, we have increased our Remote Services so we can continue business as usual without the need for you to leave your home or place of business. Our drive-thru location at Harrisburg will continue to offer full services during normal business hours, but we encourage members to use our remote services. Free Coronavirus Testing begins today. Testing will be conducted in the parking lot of United Memorial Medical Center located at 510 West Tidwell in north Houston. You must exhibit symptoms to be tested.
